Abstract

In this paper, the authors refer to the various maritime regimes laid down in UNCLOS as they affect the environment (including the conservation of resources), deep seabed mining, and shipping. Following this, they examine the relevant regimes laid down in or under the Antarctic Treaty, and the extent to which they have a relationship or an interplay with UNCLOS.
