Abstract

In this address, Hughes describes the way in which the marine insurance world - from a commercial viewpoint - has developed over the past few years, and where it is likely to go in the future. In particular, Hughes looks at Hull insurance and Protection and Indemnity cover. Hughes examines the way in which the Hull market has performed over the recent past and the factors which have created current problems, reviews the performance of the P&I Clubs, and suggests what the future may hold in both these areas.
