Abstract
Dawes presents this paper as part of Business Session 9, chaired by Ian Maitland. Dawes provides some background to the aquaculture activity of keeping Southern Blue Fin Tuna im Port Lincoln, before discussing the fatality of two thirds of the tuna stock held in Port Lincoln in 1996 and the consequential impacts. In particular, Dawes looks at the difficulties for insurers in establishing the cause of the fish fatalities and whether the limited policy coverage was sufficient to respond to the losses.
