Abstract
English presents this paper as part of Business Session 11, chaired by Paul David. English provides a brief overview of the Regulatory background under which tourist operators conduct their businesses in the Great Barrier Reef and adjacent waters, commenting on relevant recommendations of the Australian Marine Industries Strategy 1997 and the subsequent National Oceans Policy and offering her assessment as to the impact of both on tourism business operations in that region.
