Abstract
Lamplough presents this paper as part of Business Session 10, chaired by Tim Hancock. In it, he discusses the Asian currency crisis, local developments in private international law and salvage, and the difficulties with enforcing Hong Kong International Arbitration Awards in mainland China. Further, Lamplough considers the Hong Kong/Taiwan Shipping Accord 1997, and attacks of piracy in Asia throughout 1997.
