Abstract
O'Regan presents this paper as part of Business Session 3, and in connection with David Bennett's paper on native title issues. O'Regan looks at the New Zealand situation in respect of indigenous rights in fisheries and the application of the Treaty of Waitangi (1840), as well as recent efforts to transfer fishing rights and assets to Maori.
