Abstract

Russo presents this paper as part of Business Session 9. Russo states that it has become increasingly important for maritime lawyers representing shipowners operating in US waters to have a general insight into criminal investigations and prosecutions and how they affect the maritime industry. The paper is intended as an introduction for the uninitiated into the uncharted waters of criminal liability stemming from maritime accidents in the United States.
