Justice Steel divides his address into two topics. The first is the remarkable development in freezing injunctions, brought about by instantaneous electronic communication, and some of the concerns brought in its wake, with judges involuntarily acting as forensic policemen. The second topic is about how the expectation that judges play their part in ensuring that economic benefits are retained from civil litigation can come up against the newly developed forensic tools to prevent forum shopping.
