Abstract

This paper was presented as part of Business Session 3, on the topic of 'Issues from the CSL Yarra Case', which was chaired by Robert Tuck. The second page of the paper contains a short biography of the author.

In the paper, Payne explains the background to the circumstances of the Australian shipping industry as they stood just prior to the CSL Yarra decision, as well as explaining the aftermath of the decision and its impacts on the domestic shipping industry.
