Abstract

This paper was presented as part of Business Session 6, on the topic of 'Developments in Transportation Law’ which was chaired by Ross McAlpine.

Hetherington outlines some of the principal features of the Preliminary Draft Instrument on the Carriage of Goods by Sea (which was presently undergoing further development and discussion by the UNCITRAL Working Group on Transport Law) and some of the areas which have caused concern.
