The Voyage Continues: Asbestos Litigation

Abstract

This paper contains the slides for the authors' presentation about asbestos and the mounting trend of asbestos-related litigation due to industrial/occupational exposure. In relation to the maritime field, asbestos was used onboard ships as well as in shipyards, leading to the onset of various illnesses (especially lung cancer and mesothelioma) in seafarers, dockside workers, and other professions.
