Abstract
This paper contains the slides for Knight's presentation on the dumping of waste and other matters in the oceans. Knight defines 'waste dumping', and describes the applicable international conventions, restrictions on the practice of waste dumping, and how these matters are dealt with in New Zealand jurisdiction. Further, Knight considers the practical application of these restrictions and regulations, and future challenges regarding matters such as ocean fertilisation, carbon capture and sequestration, and water hull cleaning.
