Abstract
Hetherington provides an update on the work of CMI over the past year (2008), discussing the Rotterdam Rules, CMI's work on Places of Refuge, CMI's work on reviewing the 1989 Salvage Convention, the work of the CMI Steering Committee of the Executive Council in relation to reforming CMI, and efforts by other working groups of the CMI on judicial sales of ships and procedural rules in limitation conventions.
Hetherington attaches the draft instrument and report on Places of Refuge as provided to the IMO to the end of the article, as well as a questionnaire about the 1989 Salvage Convention.
