Abstract

This paper contains the slides for Murray's presentation about the growing urbanisation of China, as contributed to by Australia through commodity exports, and the changing landscape of trade and logistics. Murray argues that the three biggest challenges to urban development in China are logistics, the environment, and the rule of law, and discusses the rise of a new category of shipowners in China due to economic factors such as the recent drop in vessel prices.
