Abstract

This paper contains the slides for Rothwell's presentation about the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Rothwell provides a history of Australia's connection with both whaling and whale conservation, including the International Whaling Commission, and how Australia enforces its laws in the Australian Whale Sanctuary, alongside the various international law issues that creates.
