Abstract

In this paper, Moreira discusses various maritime law developments in Canada over the past 12 months or more, reviewing in particular those developments which have tended to be controversial. These topics include: marine pollution and Bill C-15, port State control and the 'Lantau Peak' litigation, choice of forum and the OT Africa Line saga, the carriage of passengers and the 'Adventure Tourism' controversy, and finally the scope of Canadian maritime law and the Isen v. Simms decision.
