Salvage and the Environment: A Commentary on the CMI Revision of the International Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules of Law Respecting Assistance and Salvage at Sea, Signed at Brussels, 23 September 1910 with Reference to Its Consideration by the IMO Legal Committee

Abstract

This reference paper was prepared as a contribution to the body of literature emerging in regard to the CMI and IMO's revision of the 1910 Salvage Convention (what would later become the 1989 International Convention on Salvage). It was not read at the 1986 MLAANZ Conference, but rather, the authors there discussed the environmental aspects of salvage in the context of certain provisions of the CMI Draft Convention.
