Résumé

Popple explains recent efforts of the Australian Government and the States and Territories to establish a single national personal property securities (PPS) system, which is a response to the considerable uncertainty arising from the differences between (and complexity of) PPS regimes around Australia. Popple also discusses the history of PPS reform efforts as pursued by the government and other entities, and some of the possible effects of PPS reform upon the law relating to security interests in ships.
