Résumé

This article contains a discussion of fisheries law in New Zealand's exclusive economic zone, in both an international and national context, utilising a number of case examples. Broadmore takes into account the development of and difficulties surrounding what would become UNCLOS, as well as New Zealand's legislative framework - largely the Territorial Sea and Exclusive Economic Zone Act 1977. The author also explains the background and meaning of the exclusive economic zone and the attitude toward New Zealand's EEZ from other nations.
