Résumé

Detective Superintendent A.B. Moosa provides some insight into maritime fraud from a police perspective. This article proposes a greater level of cooperation between those directly involved in international maritime trade and the local police when investigating fraud, which is relatively common in a busy port like Singapore. As the author explains, the increasing complexity of maritime fraud operations equates to lengthier investigations, the nature and challenges of which are outlined here. Various examples of maritime fraud in Singapore are also provided.
