Résumé

In this paper, Bishop considers the history of the 'No Cure - No Pay' principle in international salvage law, and the possible impact on it from recent developments in case law, International Convention, and contract. Various pertinent case examples are provided. At the time, the 1989 Salvage Convention did not yet have force of law, although elements of it had been incorporated into the LOF 90.
