This paper contains the slides for Flynn's presentation about piracy and the issues it poses for charterers, using the example of Cosco Bulk Carrier Co Ltd v Team-Up Owning Co Ltd (the 'Saldanha') [2010] EWHC 1340. In this case, the main argument was about whether the charterer should continue to pay hire while the vessel was held by pirates.
