Résumé

In this paper, Harvey considers the meaning of 'ship' and what may be capable of arrest within that meaning. In doing so, Harvey dissects the definition of 'ship' as provided in s 3(1) of the Admiralty Act 1988 (Cth) and what may be considered part of a ship, and considers a variety of case examples (largely from the UK) debating the meaning of 'ship'.
